Your First Visit

With a strong commitment to your oral health, the team at Silver Lake Family Dental goes above and beyond to make sure your first visit is exceptional. We aim to provide you with the most comprehensive evaluation possible and will perform a variety of screenings to establish an overall view of your oral health.

Using state-of-the-art equipment, we will take a full set of x-rays to examine your jaw, the roots of your teeth, any teeth that have not yet erupted, and to see if you have any tooth decay. Using intra-oral pictures, you get to watch every step of the way! We’ll also conduct a soft-tissue exam to look for signs of oral cancer.

Your current health is imperative to determine the best treatment plan for your dental care, so please come to your first visit prepared to share your medical history. It’s important for our team to know if you have recently been ill or hospitalized as well as any medications you are currently taking. The names, doses, and frequency are all important, so please have this information handy.

The team at Silver Lake Family Dental is excited to meet you and appreciates the trust you place in us. Your oral health is our number one priority!

Regular Checkups

Regular oral care is essential to maintaining a healthy smile, and we recommend that anyone age four and up should have a full checkup every six months. During these visits, our team will:

  • Thoroughly examine your mouth for problems you may not have noticed
  • Look for early signs of decay
  • Address oral health problems before they get worse with treatment plans designed just for you

Your regular checkups will also include a thorough cleaning and polishing of your teeth as well as a comprehensive oral examination. Our experienced team will check the health of every area of your mouth as well as review the integrity of older fillings or restorations.

You can expect your checkup to take between 20 and 40 minutes. Please keep in mind that we see patients by appointment only and strive to see you as quickly as possible. If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please contact our office.
